Common Projects
Looking to undertake a project but not sure what to do? Please see the following common projects to give you an insight of what is involved.
Single storey extension
A lot of projects can fall under permitted development but there is quite a lot of criteria that the extension has to comply with. Once we have viewed your property and know what you want from your proposal, we will advise whether your project will need Planning permission or not.
All extensions require Building Control with some minor exemptions.
2 Storey Extensions
This type of application will nearly always require Planning Permission and Building Control Approval. Different councils have different Policies, particularly when it comes to 2 storey side extensions. We are familiar with all the different requirements and can advise during the design process.
Loft conversions
A lot of the loft conversions we undertake can be submitted under a Certificate of Lawfulness (permitted development), however areas such as Petts Wood have had their permitted development removed and therefore, Planning Permission is required. Building Control Approval is required for such works.
